Thoughts on Typography & Layout
This project was developed as part of a university typography assignment exploring typeface selection, page layout, typesetting, and the ability to work within production deadlines. The goal was to demonstrate both technical understanding and creative expression through publication design.
My approach focused on achieving a balance between clarity and creativity. I used structured layouts to establish hierarchy and readability, while experimenting with playful design choices, such as chunky paragraphs and bold highlights—to draw attention to key messages and create visual impact.
The process involved researching type combinations, applying grid-based systems for consistency, and experimenting with variations in scale, weight, and layout rhythm. By testing and refining, I was able to explore how typographic structure could be both functional and expressive.
